The Els Club Desaru Coast, Ocean Course

Desaru Coast, located on the South East of Peninsular Malaysia, is just 1 hour from downtown Johor or 1 hour 45 minutes by road from Singapore.

 

The Ocean Course offers 27 holes of tournament-ready golf designed by Ernie Els. Golfers experience three distinctly different 9-hole courses, the Lakes (Par 36), Coast (Par 36), and the Ridge (Par 37). With multiple tee boxes on each hole, the golf course meanders through natural wetlands and lakes as it makes its way thru the spectacular natural rolling terrain set alongside the South China Sea. It provides a challenge for all skill levels. Each hole on the Ocean Course bears the Els mark of strategy, beauty, and elegance. The flow of the golf course is unique in SE Asia. 

 

The club also features an Els Performance Golf Academy and a 9-hole Par 3 course.

The 45,000 square foot open plan contemporary clubhouse overlooks the golf course and academy, offering golfers plenty of comfortable areas to relax and great views.  Service in either of the two restaurants is only average. There is a grassed driving range with multiple target greens and short game practice areas for chipping and putting.

The Ocean Course has a mandatory golf cart policy. Carts are permitted on the fairways and come outfitted with a state-of-the-art GPS. There are no caddies. Overall the Earnie Els course is a terrific complement to its sister Valley Course at Desaru Coast.
